Cabbage Moong Dal With Dill


Preparation time –1 hour
Cooking time -  15 to 20 minutes
Serving – 2

Ingredients:
Cabbage, shredded – 500 gm
Moong dal (Skinless) – ¼ cup
Oil – 2 Tablespoons
Mustard seeds – 1 Teaspoon
Ginger, chopped – ½ Teaspoon
Garlic, chopped – 1 Teaspoon
Green chilli, chopped – 1
Turmeric powder – ½ Teaspoon
Red chilli powder – ¼ Teaspoon
Coriander powder – 1 Teaspoon
Cumin powder – ½ Teaspoon
Salt to taste
Dill leaves (Suva bhaji), chopped – ½ cup
Lemon juice – 1 Teaspoon
water - as required



Method:

Wash and Soak skinless moong dal with sufficient water for 1 hour.

Heat oil in kadai, add mustard seeds, ginger, garlic and sauté for 10 seconds.

Add  moong dal, mix well. Add cabbage, salt, turmeric powder mix well. Add 4 to 5 tablespoons water. Cook for 5 to 10 minutes or till moong dal soft. Stirring  occasionally.

Add dill leaves, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, mix well. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes.

Add lemon juice, mix well.

Garnish with dill leaves and serve hot with roti or paratha.
