Ingredients:
Yellow Moong dal
(skinless) – 4 Tablespoons
Masoor dal (red
lentil) – 2 Tablespoons
Oil – 2
Tablespoons
Cumin seeds – ½
Teaspoon
Green chilly,
slit – 2
Curry leaves – 3
to 4
Hing
(asafoetida) – ¼ Teaspoon
Onion, chopped –
2 medium
Garlic, finely
chopped – 6 to 8 cloves
Turmeric powder
– ½ Teaspoon
Salt to taste
Lemon juice – 1 Tablespoon
Method:
Soak both dal
and lentils for 15 minutes. Presser cook with 1 cup of water for 3 to 4
whistles or till cooked.

Heat oil in
kadai, add cumin seeds let them crackle. Add green chilly, garlic, curry
leaves, hing and sauté till garlic light brown.
Add onion, salt,
turmeric powder, mix well. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
Add cooked dal,
mix well. Add water to adjust the consistency. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes.
Add lemon juice,
mix well.
Garnish with
onion slices and chilly garlic oil, mint leaves.
With in a short time one of a great "dal recipe" is ready. Really that was a great post.
