Gilka ( Silk Squash) aur vadiya ki sabji

Serving - 2

Ingredients:
Vadiya (moong dal + chana dal)- 1/ 2 Cup
Gilka , Peeled , Chopped - 250 gm
Onion ,Finely Chopped - 1 Medium
Tomato , Finely Chopped - 1 Medium
Ginger Paste - 1 Teaspoon
Garlic Paste - 2 Teaspoons
Oil - 2 Tablespoons + 2 Tablespoons
Cumin Seeds - 1/ 2 Teaspoon
Hing(asafoetida )  - 1/ 4 Teaspoon
Salt to taste
Red chilli powder - 1  Teaspoon
Turmeric Powder - 1 / 2 Teaspoon
Water - 1 / 2 Cup
Fresh coriander leaves - 1 Tablespoon

Method:
Heat 2 tablespoons oil in kadai , saute vadiya till golden brown . keep aside .
Heat 2 Tablespoons oil  in kadai , add cumin seeds, hing , onion , ginger paste , garlic paste , saute for 1 minute . add tomatoes ,saute till soft. 
Add red chilli powder ,salt ,turmeric powder and mix well .
Add sauted vadiya , gilka ( silk squash) , water and mix well . cover with lid. cook till vadiya become soft .
Add coriander leaves and serve hot .

Tip : I use readymade vadiya made from chana dal , moong dal , salt , garlic . you can use any type of vadiya . Urad vadiya also available in market .
