Banjari Dal ( Traditional Preparation of banjaras people from Rajasthan )


Serving - 2

Ingredients:
Split Black  Gram with skin ( Kali urad dal) ,soaked - 6 Tablespoons
Split Bengal Gram ( Chana Dal), soaked - 4 Tablespoons
Ghee - 1 to 2 Tablespoons
Turmeric Powder - 1/4 Teaspoon
Salt To Taste
Onion , sliced - 2 Medium
Cloves -3 to 4
Cinnamon Sticks - 1
Dried Red chillies - 2 to 3
Ginger Paste -1/2 Tablespoon
Garlic Paste -1 Tablespoon
Coriander Powder - 1 Teaspoon
Black Pepper Powder - 1 /2 Teaspoon
Green chillies, chopped - 2
Red chilli Powder - 1/2 Teaspoon
Fresh coriander Leaves - 2  Tablespoons
Lemon Juice - 1 Tablespoon

Method:
Pressure cook urad dal and chana dal with turmeric powder ,salt and 2 cups of water for 3 to 4 whistles or until done.
Heat ghee in pan and add onions slices ,cloves ,cinnamon and dried red chillies and saute till onions turn golden. Add ginger - garlic paste ,coriander powder ,red chilli powder ,black pepper powder ,green chillies and saute for couple of minutes.
Add boiled dal and cook for 3 to 4 minutes . Switch off the flame . Add lemon juice and mix well. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves , lemon slice , mint leaves and serve hot .
