Dal Amrutsari


Ingredients:

Black Urad Dal  - 1/2 cup
Chana Dal - 1/2 cup
Salt To Taste
Turmeric Powder - 1/ 2 Teaspoon
Ginger - 1/2 inch + 1/2 inch
Green Chilli  chopped- 1 + 1
Ghee - 2 Tablespoons
Butter - 1 Tablespoon
Cumin Seeds - 1 Teaspoon
Onion chopped - 1 medium
Tomatoes chopped - 2 medium
Red chilli Powder -  1 Teaspoon
Fresh Coriander Leaves - 1 Tablespoons

Method:

Mix Black urad dal and chana dal  and soak in  2 to 3 cups of water for an hour . Drain.
Place the soaked dals in presser cooker  with 3 cup of water , salt , turmeric powder ,1/2 inch ginger , 1 chopped green chillies , cook for 4 to 5 whistles .
Heat ghee and butter  in a pan  , add cumin seeds , reaming ginger and green chilli , stir and add chopped onion  and saute till light brown.
Add chopped tomatoes and saute till tomatoes soften . Add red chilli powder and saute 1/2 minute.
Add dal and mix well . simmer for 2 to 3 minutes and  coriander leaves .
Serve hot .
